Toronto FC is coming off arguably the greatest season in MLS history, they won the MLS Cup, the Supporters’ Shield and the Canadian Championship. They set an MLS record with 69 points, as they went 20-5 with 9 draws. Toronto FC defeated Seattle Sounders FC in the MLS Cup by a score of 2-0, avenging a loss in the 2016 MLS Cup. Toronto FC should be favored to win the MLS Cup again in 2018.
Toronto FC MLS Odds
There is little doubt that Toronto FC is going to be favored to win the MLS Cup again in 2018 based on what they did in 2017. Toronto FC simply dominated Major League Soccer, as they finished 12 points ahead of New York City FC in the East and Toronto finished a whopping 16 points ahead of Portland and Seattle who each had 53 points to lead the West.
MLS Results
Toronto FC had a magical season in 2017, as they won the MLS Cup for the first time. It was redemption for the team that lost the 2016 MLS Cup in a penalty shootout. "I could sit here and try to explain to you guys for the next two hours what it's like to lose a final on penalties the way we did last year and to have to wake up the next morning and feel like your chance at redemption might as well be 50 years away," Michael Bradley said to the media after beating Seattle. Jozy Altidore scored in the 67th minute and Victor Vazquez scored in stoppage time for the 2-0 win.
Toronto FC completed a historic treble, as they won the Supporters’ Shield, the Voyageurs Cup as Canadian champions and the MLS Cup. They dispatched the New York Red Bulls and Columbus Crew in the playoffs before beating Seattle in the MLS Cup. The squad set a franchise record for wins (20), goals scored (74), fewest goals allowed (37), shutouts (13), home wins (13), home points (42), road wins (7) and road points (27).

Toronto has a couple star players to watch in Jozy Altidore and Michael Bradley and each player is coming off a good 2017 season.
The Coach
Greg Vanney has been the head man at Toronto FC since August of 2014 and he figures to have the job for a long time going forward, as he led the team to the MLS Cup in 2016 and to the MLS Cup title in 2017.
Toronto FC History
Toronto FC entered the MLS in 2007 and they were almost an immediate doormat. They missed the playoffs for their first eight years and needed five years to get to a total of 10 away wins. The team lost nine straight games to start the 2012 season to set a record for most futility to start a season. The team went 5-21-8 that season. Things turned around for Toronto when they hired Tim Leiweke as president and CEO in 2013. The team hired Tim Bezbatchenko as GM in September of 2013 and Greg Vanney as head coach in 2013. They hired Bill Manning as president in October of 2015.
