Udinese will look to improve upon their 13th place finish from a year ago in 2017-2018. They will miss Duvan Zapata who returned to Napoli but they still have French striker Cyril Thereau who scored 12 goals last season. It is hard to know what to expect from Udinese, as they have a new sporting director, as Manuel Gerolin takes over from Nereo Bonato. He also added Bosnian Riad Bajic from Konyaspor who scored 17 times in 32 games last season in the Turkish Super League. Another good move was getting Kevin Lasagna from Carpi.
Udinese really didn’t lose much in the off-season, so there is optimism that the team could be better in 2017-2018. They could be going with Simone Scuffet in goal at some point this season and they have a young midfield duo of Seko Fofana and Andrija Balic. Those young players should get help from veterans like Danilo, Rodrigo De Paul and Cyril Thereau and Lasagna could be a solid contributor.
