2017-18-Torino-Betting-Odds-at-JustBet-Sportsbook

Torino finished in 9th place last season but a lack of defense prevented them from finishing higher and qualifying for European football. They have a star striker in Andrea Belotti who scored 26 goals last season and they have a new goalkeeper in Salvatore Sirigu.  The club also brought in a number of new players including M’Baye Niang. Torino will be looking to improve to a top 6 finish in 2017-2018 but to do so they will need another big year from Belotti, get good goalkeeping from Sirigu and be better defensively.

Torino Serie A Odds

Odds To Win Serie A: +5000 (Field)

Torino is not thought of as a contender this season, as they are listed as part of the field at odds of +5000. They could be a contender for a top 6 position but only if their defense improves. The team allowed 66 goals last season, third-worst in the league. Torino will definitely be an interesting team to follow in 2017-2018 and one that could surprise if everything comes together.

What's New?

The team added Salvatore Sirigu from PSG, Vanja Milinkovic-Savic from Lecha Gdansk, Eddie Battistelli from Perugia, Marco Capone from Crotone, Nicolas Nkoulou from Lyon, Lyanco from Sao Paolo and Alex Berenguer from Osasuna. The team also made a late move and added M’Baye Niang from AC Milan.

What's Gone?

The team lost Joe Hart to Manchester City, Pontus Jansson to Leeds United, Alfred Gomis on loan to SPAL, Marco Benassi to Fiorentina and Sasa Lukic on loan to Levante.

Torino 2017-18 Predictions

Manager Sinisa Mihajlovic is expected to have a lineup of Sirigu, Zappacosta, Lyanco, N’Koulou, Barreca, Baselli, Valdifiori, Acquah, Berenguer, Belotti and Ljalic.

It was all about Belotti last season for Torino, as he scored 26 goals. The problem for Torino was that Belotti was not enough because the defense was terrible. It is hard to see how Torino can finish in the top 6 unless their defense improves.

The good news for Torino is that they signed an experienced goalkeeper in Salvatore Sirigu. He has previously played with Palermo and Paris Saint-Germain and he should be far better than Joe Hart was last season. Torino also made a major coup in getting 20-year-old centre back Lyanco from Sao Paolo. Another good addition is Alex Berenguer who should help out on the wings.

We know that Torino is going to score goals in 2017-2018, as they play an aggressive system under Mihajlovic and they have a big time scorer in Belotti. The question is whether or not they will play enough defense to be improved.

Torino was 9-2 last season at home with 8 draws, outscoring the opposition by a combined 43-31. They were just 4-9 on the road with 6 draws, being outscored by a combined margin of 35-28.

Torino scored 71 goals last season but they gave up 66. That is a tough way to win games having to outscore the opposition in high scoring contests every game. That shouldn’t be the case as much in 2017-2018, as it would be hard to be any worse in goal than they were last season with Hart. Sirigu should be much better and he should get some support.

Torino is a fun team to watch and if they can just be a little better defensively they could be a team that challenges for a top 6 spot this season. The most likely scenario for Torino in 2017-2018 has the team right on the cusp of European football which means a 6th or 7th place finish.
