Sampdoria is not a team that is good enough to challenge for a top 3 spot and it is questionable whether they can improve enough to challenge for a top 6 spot. It seems unlikely simply because they have to replace Schick. The most likely scenario for Sampdoria in 2017-2018 is another finish right around the middle of the table. Last year it was 10th place and this season it might be 11th or 12th place.
