2017-18-Lazio-Betting-Odds-at-JustBet-Sportsbook

Lazio is coming off a successful season a year ago, as they finished in 5th place and qualified for the Europa League. Duplicating that success in 2017-2018 will not be easy, as the team lost Lucas Biglia to Milan. Lazio needs another good season from breakout star Sergej and leading scorer Immobile. They also need a repeat effort from young goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha. If that sounds like a lot that needs to go right for this season for Lazio, it is. The team may have trouble finishing in the top 6 and qualifying for the Europa League again in 2017-2018.

Lazio Serie A Odds

Odds To Win Serie A: +5000 (Field)

Lazio is no real threat to win Serie A, as they are listed as part of the field at odds of +5000.  The team also looks to be strong enough to not be in any relegation danger, so it is all about qualifying for European football. The team was able to do so last year but it might prove to be a more difficult task in 2017-2018.

What's New?

The team added Lucas Leiva from Liverpool, Ameth Lo from AC Milan, Felipe Caicedo from Espanyol, Adam Marusic from kv Oostende and Davide Di Gennaro from Cagliari. The team also made a late addition, as they got Nani on loan from Valencia. He scored five goals in 24 appearances last season.

What's Gone?

The team lost Lucas Biglia to AC Milan and they also lost Keita Balde to Monaco.

Lazio 2017-18 Predictions

Lazio finished with 70 points last season which was good for 5th place but they blew a chance at 4th place in the last game of the season. Lazio has a top scorer in Ciro Immobile who scored 26 goals in all competitions last season. They will need another big season from Immobile, especially without Biglia. The loss of Biglia is a big one but Lazio did bring in Lucas Leiva from Liverpool.

Manager Simone Inzaghi is expected to have a starting lineup of Strakosha, Basta, de Vrij, Bastos, Radu, M. Parolo, di Gennaro, Sergej, Felipe Anderson, Immobile and Leiva. The club gave Inzaghi a new contract over the summer, as they are pleased with his progress. Inzaghi runs a 3-5-2 formation that worked well a year ago. Lazio went 12-5 at home with 2 draws last season, outscoring opponents by a combined 40-23. They were 9-5-5 on the road, outscoring the opposition 34-28.

Lazio doesn’t have the talent of Juventus or Roma or Napoli but they are good enough to compete with everyone else in Serie A. Last season may have been an overachieving one for Lazio but that remains to be seen. Inzaghi looks like a very good manager and he has a group of players that came together well a year ago. With an extra Champions League spot now available, as four teams qualify instead of three, Lazio has high aspirations for this season.

Lazio is an interesting team heading into the 2017-2018 season. They have a big time scorer in Immobile and a lot of young talent around him. The question is how much they will miss Biglia and Balde. Lazio was good enough last season to compete for a Europa League spot but they were no threat to the top three teams. It may be similar in 2017-2018, as Lazio doesn’t look to be a threat to Juventus, Roma or Napoli and they are also behind Inter Milan. The most likely scenario in 2017-2018 has Lazio fighting for 5th or 6th place and a Europa League spot.
