The most hated team in the Bundesliga, RB Leipzig is coming off a very successful season a year ago, as they finished second to Bayern Munich. It was a great finish for Leipzig, as in their first season in the Bundesliga they went 20-7-7. They have an excellent manager in Ralph Hassenhuttl and plenty of talented players including Timo Werner, Naby Keita, and Emil Forsberg. The team was built nearly overnight with money from energy drink giant, Red Bull, so everyone in Germany hates them, but on the field there is a lot to like about Leipzig. They are not yet at the level of Bayern, but they are getting closer.
RB Leipzig Bundesliga Futures Odds
Odds To Win Bundesliga: +2000
Only three teams are not listed as part of the field when it comes to winning the Bundesliga. Those teams are Bayern, Dortmund and Leipzig. The odds are long on Leipzig winning the Bundesliga but at least they are given some sort of a chance at odds of +2000. The Red Bulls finished 15 points behind Bayern last season, so they do have ground to make up.

RB Leipzig 2017-18 Predictions
Leipzig has a pair of start players in striker Timo Werner and midfielder Emil Forsberg. Werner had 21 league goals last season, while Forsberg led the league in assists with 19. The Red Bulls will need even more production this season from those two players and from others because the team will be taxed playing in the Champions League.
The good news for Leipzig is that they are deep. They have one of the best midfields in the league with Forsberg, Marcel Sabitzer, and Naby Keita. They have a lot of talented forwards including Werner and Yusuf Poulsen and the defense is led by Willi Orban. Leipzig scored the first goal in 24 of their 34 matches last season and only once did they lose when they scored first.
The Red Bulls are going to be good again this season and anything less than a top 4 finish would be a major surprise. They finished second last year to Bayern, as they had 67 points and they scored 66 goals while allowing just 39 for a +26 goal differential. They were no fluke, as they won 11 matches by two goals or more and only lost three matches by two goals or more.
Leipzig still has to overcome one major hurdle if they are to become title contenders and that is Bayern Munich. The Red Bulls simply couldn’t handle Bayern last season, as they lost both matches. Bayern was the only club to take all six points from Leipzig last year.
Leipzig is going to be a power in the Bundesliga for years to come and it is probably only a matter of time before they give Bayern a run for the Bundesliga title. Will it come this season? The answer is probably not, simply because the pressure of playing in the Champions League for the first time might be too much for the team. Another second place finish is definitely possible for Leipzig and it is not entirely out of the question that they give Bayern a run for the league title in 2017-2018.
