Just saying, "Los Angeles Chargers," doesn't quite roll off the tongue quite yet. That said, the Bolts are leaving San Diego for Tinseltown and will have one of the strangest home fields in the NFL at the StubHub Center in Carson. They've consistently had one of the worst teams in the NFL these last few seasons, but most recognize that it's only a matter of time until they start to become a lot more fortunate and become contenders again.
Los Angeles Chargers Super Bowl Odds
Super Bowl Odds: +6500
AFC Championship Odds: +3500
AFC West Odds: +500
Odds Chargers Make Playoffs: +300
Chargers Regular Season Win Total: 7.5
When you consider the fact that the Chargers have had one 10+ win season since 2009, it's hard to imagine that they should legitimately be set at 7.5-wins for their regular season win total. But these last two seasons have been incredibly injury-riddled all over the field, and that has led to just a total of nine victories.
Most insiders recognize that this is still the least-talented team in the AFC West, but it still might be the sixth or seventh best team in the AFC with as bad as rest of the conference is outside of New England.
Thus, it isn't unbelievable to think that the Bolts could finish third in the AFC West, sneak into the postseason and make some noise when they get there. That's why they're only +6500 to win the Super Bowl, far in front of many of the other fringe playoff contenders in the AFC.

The Los Angeles Chargers Will Be a Success If…
... Rivers can keep the same group of skill position players on the field in 2017.
It’s been a revolving door at the wide receiver positions for the last couple years in San Diego. Perhaps the most to LA can give the team a bit of a reprieve from the injury bug that has bitten Keenan Allen a couple times. It was nice to see Dontrelle Inman and Tyrell Williams break out a bit last season, but the bottom line is that these two men aren't the receivers of the future for this franchise. It's all about Allen and Mike Williams.
If Rivers can have these two men for 16 games apiece get 16 games out of Melvin Gordon that rival the 13 he had last year (and not the 14 he had in 2015), this offense is going to be downright frightening.
The Los Angeles Chargers Will Be a Failure If…
… The Chargers can't win games in the trenches.
The stats don't lie about the Chargers' offensive line. They stunk last season. San Diego ranked No. 18 in the NFL in sacks allowed and was No. 28 in yards per rushing attempt. Not surprisingly, wholesale changes were made up front in the offseason, including bringing in Russell Okung from Denver to anchor the left tackle position and drafting Forrest Lamp, who might have been the best interior lineman in this draft.
But let's not forget that the other side of the ball has to be better, too. From the point that Joey Bosa actually stopped whining about his contract and got on the field, he was one of the best pass rushers in the game. But he's one of three first-round picks along the LA front seven, and this unit has to start playing like it. Perhaps adding Brandon Mebane as a nose tackle will help bring this team to the next level along the defensive line as well.
Los Angeles Chargers 2017 Predictions
Los Angeles is definitely a sleeper team for us. Anthony Lynn was a great hire as a bright, young head coach, and he's got veterans around him as his coordinators in Ken Whisenhunt and Gus Bradley. These men have both been head coaches recently and have had tremendous success as coordinators.
If the Bolts stay healthy, they can easily go from four wins to 10 wins in a hurry. The AFC West is really good, but we think this team could contend with Oakland for the top slot if the Chiefs take a step backwards and the Broncos implode the way they did last year. Consider us buyers of the Bolts.
